The Governor's Forum was EXCELLENT!! Great time with SEIU Brothers and Sisters, as well as getting a chance to meet with 9 of the DFL candidates. If you were not there, you missed a GREAT day!

January 27, 2010

SEIU Members from across Minnesota gathered together on January 27th to meet with 10 of the Gubernatorial candidates. A training was held in the morning where members learned about precinct caucuses, how to tell their story, and more! In the afternoon members broke out into small groups to sit down with a candidate and get their questions answered to see how the candidate, if elected as governor, would work to solve their issues. After the small group break-outs all members and candidates reconvened for additional questions from members.

SEIU's Help Haiti Volunteer Effort

SEIU International is investigating what volunteer needs and opportunities exist at this time. SEIU Healthcare members – nurses, personal care assistants, doctors and others – are mobilizing to determine the types of direct support that are needed by the people of Haiti.

SEIU is coordinating with federal agencies and the service and relief communities and we are recruiting healthcare workers for possible deployment once more information is known.
