July 17th Rally at The Governor's Mansion
Join Us
on July 17 for
A Global
Day of Action!
On July 17, thousands of people in more than one
hundred cities worldwide will rally to put the corporate buyout industry on
notice that workers want to end the special treatment and tax loopholes that
reward greed and hurt families. Minnesota is one of
KKR’s largest investors through public pension funds.
Minnesotans will gather at the Governor’s Mansion to demand that Tim
Pawlenty, as chair of the State Board of Investments, invest no more of
Minnesotans’ hard earned money in a company that drains public funding!

Something’s wrong with our economy when one person
hauls in $450 million a year through financial schemes that drain funding from public
services communities rely on. Henry
Kravis’s company, KKR, and other “private equity” buyout firms use special tax
breaks and reap billions in profits.
Workers don’t get raises
or better healthcare in corporate buyouts. Communities typically lose tax
dollars. And Henry Kravis himself pays a lower
tax rate on his multimillion-dollar profits than many middle class families.
