Julie K Schnell (president) 

Julie K. Schnell, President
Julie K. Schnell currently serves as the President of Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Healthcare Minnesota. SEIU Healthcare Minnesota represents 17,000 health care workers in hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes across Minnesota.

Ms. Schnell additionally serves as President of the SEIU Minnesota State Council, the political arm of the 30,000 members of SEIU’s four Minnesota Locals, and is a member of the SEIU International Executive Board. SEIU represents 2 million workers and is the largest and fastest growing union in North America.



EVP Ugen 
Jigme Ugen, Secretary-Treasurer
Jigme Ugen is the first Tibetan refugee to be elected as a labor leader in North America. He is the Secretary-Treasurer of SEIU Healthcare MN (Service Employees International Union, Healthcare Minnesota), which has over 17,000 members. SEIU is the largest and fastest growing union in North America with over 2 million members.

In 2001 Ugen emigrated to the United States. There he worked on the late Senator Paul Wellstone’s re-election campaign in Minnesota and in 2002, Ugen went to work for SEIU as an organizer. He became a lead organizer, a coordinator, and a business representative for the union. Then in 2007, Ugen won election to the office of Executive Vice President. Ugen was named Secretary-Treasurer in 2010.
