Allina Open Enrollment New
Allina is doing “active enrollment” for Health Insurance this year—this means that your insurance will not continue into next year unless you sign up and choose a health insurance plan. If you do not enroll in a health insurance plan before the deadline—NOVEMBER 15th-– you will lose health insurance coverage on January 1, 2024!
There are 4 plans to choose from. The majority of SEIU members in the past have chosen the Allina First Plan- which provides the most comprehensive coverage. This is the plan that our union negotiates the percentage of the premium Allina pays, which results in a much lower cost to union members compared to non-contract.
SEIU members will not be charged the “spousal surcharge” that non-contract employees must now pay.
This year Allina is offering a new Health Savings Account Plan called “Premier HSA”. The monthly premium for this plan is low, but the coverage is limited to a very narrow Allina only network and the plan pays nothing until the deductible ($2000 individual/$4000 family) is met. We urge any members who are considering this plan to be aware of the risks. The cost is appealing but the hidden costs may result in less access to care and in the end, cost more if you go out of network.
If you have questions about your choices, need an interpreter or need help enrolling, please call Allina’s HRConnect at 1-612-262-4688 or 1-877-992-8099. You can also reach out to union leaders, and we can share with you what we know about the plans.
Please choose your plan and enroll without delay!
