The Lavender Caucus is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirit, (LGBTQIA2S+) and Allies Caucus of the Service Employee International Union.
Our purpose is to facilitate open and respectful communication between the LGBTQIA2S+ community and the labor movement by ensuring LGBTQIA2S+ members and staff have a sense of belonging at SEIU Healthcare MN & IA.
We are a recently re-formed caucus that meets monthly to discuss the intersectionality between LGBTQIA2S+ identities and the labor movement here in the Midwest. We aim to empower LGBTQIA2S+ leaders in our union and workplaces, educate member about LGBTQIA2S+ identities, and stand firmly behind the tenants of equal rights and bodily autonomy for all.
Membership in the Lavender Caucus is open to any SEIU Healthcare MN & IA member who supports our purpose, regardless of their sexual or gender identity. If you are interested in joining us or would like more information please fill out this form.
